Nothing sings the blues like your skin during the cold winter months.
But, there is hope!
For the past few years, the winter season has been almost non-existent in certain areas of the United States (especially in the southeast). That stored box of winter coats has remained pretty much unpacked for a lot of us.
But for the few weeks when the weather actually feels like winter weather, our delicate skin feels it.
Because, guess what?
Cold Temperatures + Low Humidity = Dehydrated Skin
And dehydrated skin means ZERO moisture.
But, hope awaits!
According to Harvard Medical School, these steps can help keep your skin hydrated during the winter:
* Use a humidifier
*Keep skin hydrated (Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, & Mango Butter are excellent at keeping skin hydrated and protected)
* Use lukewarm water when showering/bathing (hot water can wash away natural oils in the skin)
*5 -10 minute shower or bath once a day
*Use fragrance-free laundry detergents
*Drink plenty of water
*And never, EVER scratch!
Following these steps can help with dehydrated skin and will keep your skin from singing the blues during the winter :-)
